Cabasse appoints Red Sheep
Following a successful launch event held last year in London, Cabasse has appointed Phil Hansen’s consultancy, Red Sheep Communications, to handle UK PR and marketing.
Red Sheep is tasked with promoting the Cabasse brand to UK consumers and high end retailers through trade and consumer media relations campaigns.
“I am very pleased to be working with one of the world’s premier loudspeaker manufacturers to reintroduce it the UK market,” says Phil Hansen, director of Red Sheep Communications.
“Cabasse is leading the world of loudspeaker technology and its combination of aesthetic beauty and acoustic integrity will bring something new, different and better to the UK consumer.”
Cabasse is currently undergoing a period of growth and expansion. Under the ownership of Japan’s Canon Inc., the company has a very well resourced research and development department at its Brest headquarters, with 35 engineers working at the forefront of technologies to create the next generation of loudspeaker systems for the high end luxury consumer market.
Cabasse has always followed a philosophy of the quest for the ‘original sound’ and its Spatially Coherent System technology (SCS), found in many of the speakers produced by the company, is the culmination of many years research into the importance of point source reproduction from the drive units. The co-axial and tri-axial drive units used across the range provide an enlarged sweet spot, providing regular directivity across frequency ranges and no irregularities in the overlapping zones between the drive units.

Armour CI course gains CEDIA accreditation
Armour’s recently-launched training course, ‘Custom Installation - Foundation Knowledge’, has gained CEDIA Accreditation. This means CEDIA members can now earn 6 CEU points for attending this one day course.
The course was launched by the Armour Training Academy in September, at Armour’s new training facility, sited within Alphason’s impressive new premises at Hindley Green, near Manchester. It is said to instil the essential knowledge required to successfully complete custom installation projects and is already proving very popular.
Ashley Hutchinson, Armour’s category manager responsible for the Academy told us: “Within the Armour technical and training team we believe it’s essential to maintain a high level of professionalism throughout our industry and that certain minimum standards and best practices must be taught to installers as early as possible in their careers. This course is designed to aid that process, with resulting benefits for both the consumer and the CI industry as a whole.”
The one day seminar covers every aspect of a custom installation, from creating a relationship with the customer and establishing a budget, to purchasing schedules and service contracts.
“I attended the foundation custom installation course at Armour’s new Hindley Green offices,” said Martyn Brierley of ‘HG Lifestyle’, the CI division of Harry Garlick.
“The facilities were excellent and the course content very useful. I am already a Cedia certified level one installer and level one designer, so I was unsure if the foundation nature of the course might be below my requirements but was pleased to find it both relevant and extremely beneficial.”
Foundation Knowledge Custom Installation courses cost £99+VAT. The next scheduled dates for this course - with places still available - are Monday 19 January 2009, Thursday 26 February 2009 and Wednesday 11 March 2009 (all in Bishops Stortford) for further information and booking please contact Hannah Creasey on 01279-719948 or hannah.creasey@armourhome.co.uk
